Overview
Penn State College of Health and Human Development is offering an accelerated degree for students enrolled in Biobehavioral Health (BBH) undergraduate degree programs. BBH students can earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree as part of this new Integrated Undergraduate/Graduate program (IUG).
Those enrolled in the program have four years to complete their undergraduate coursework at Penn State New Kensington, then complete their MPH degree with Penn State's College of Medicine in Hershey. BBH students interested in the accelerated program must have a GPA of 3.25 or above. The MPH degree requires 42 credits, of which 12 can be double-counted. BBH students take some graduate-level courses during their senior year of their undergraduate degree.

This major provides interdisciplinary training designed to integrate biological, behavioral and social science approaches to the study of human health and illness. Emphasis is placed on the study of physical health. The goal of this major is to help students gain working familiarity with multiple perspectives, approaches, and methods needed to address and solve problems of human health and illness.

*Penn State New Kensington and Penn State Greater Allegheny share authorization to deliver the B.S. in Biobehavioral Health program. All courses needed for the degree will be offered at each campus. Students in the program should expect to take some courses via a combination of web-based and face-to-face technology.
